Have
you ever thought about where new ideas come from? When you get an intuitive impulse… or when you find
solutions to problems, where do they come from? Is there a storehouse in your brain that
simply dispenses a thought into your
mind when you need one? Is
there a memory bank with all the answers somewhere in your sub
consciousness that you have access to?
Or is there an invisible ‘pipeline’ to your mind from a
source of ideas outside your of your body? Does
this sound crazy? Let's test it out!
Imagine
that you have access to a big tank up in the air somewhere and it is
connected to you through a pipeline of some sort. The pipeline
is invisible of course, but we already have some well established
things in our world that are invisible, like radio signals and
electricity, so this shouldn’t prevent us from investigating
further.
This tank must contain a multitude of thoughts able to give all kinds
of answers and solutions. Think about geniuses, their tanks must
be huge… Which makes me wonder. Do thoughts occupy space? Is it
likely that there are invisible weightless areas above our heads? Are thoughts able to penetrate matter? Where would the tanks be when we are on the underground
railway,
jammed together with a lot of people? Or sitting in an airplane?
Is it likely that all humans have access to the same tank?
It would be far more rational. Ok,
Let's continue on our journey, imagining that there is a wonderfully
bright cloud hovering above our heads. We all have access to this
‘cloud’ when we allow ourselves to believe that it is there…
We have heard that people on opposite sides of the globe have invented
the same thing at the same time without knowing of each other.
Maybe they had access to the same source? Maybe our bright cloud
encompasses the whole earth? I notice occasionally that authors
and songwriters sue each other because they think that someone has
copied their original ideas. What if we all have access to the same
source of ideas? Those lawsuits become meaningless?

If
this cloud is all around the earth, it may have the same
electro-magnetic shape, or field, that our atmosphere has. What would be
the nature of this idea field? It
would be filled with an enormous intelligence, being able to provide all
human beings with solutions to all of their problems... it would consist
of the same kind of stuff as our minds...
What an amazing thought!
We know that this stuff, our thoughts, or what we call mental energy
or consciousness, is an inherent part of us.
Is there anything to indicate that this ‘stuff’ does not
exist outside of us as well as inside?
Can anybody actually prove that our consciousness resides solely
inside our heads?

What
if the reason why we don’t utilize our full brain capacity, is that
we simply don’t know how it all works and fits together, so we have
limited ourselves by thinking that our ideas are created only in our
heads? If we can accept another understanding of where our ideas come
from, we would expand our brain capacity enormously...
What
could be the brain’s function if it doesn’t create new thoughts? Current research about the brain is still built upon old
limited perceptions. My suggestion is that it functions as a
receiver and transformer for new ideas entering the mind from this
mutual energy source. Most
scientific study upon the brain would need to be re-interpreted from
this new context, many of them would still be valid though.
However,
we mostly think only repetitive thoughts. We don’t usually go around
getting new ideas all of the time. So where
all our everyday thoughts come from...?
